Weekend Wonders

Just got back from visiting NYC. We celebrated a birthday and spent most of the time visiting family and friends. As usual- we also ate too much. We can’t help it- there is just so much good food in NYC! We ate at so many places- but I have to recommend Goa in Tribeca and Hungry Ghost Coffee in Brooklyn. At Goa- we ordered half the menu- loved it all! As for Hungry Ghost Coffee, I loved their iced matcha with oat milk.

While I was gone- I was keeping my eye out for interesting things that I thought you would enjoy. Here are a few….

It is the true heart of summer right now. The orchards and markets near us are bursting with fresh produce and fruit. If all of that deliciousness has you feeling a little bummed that you weren’t able to plant a spring garden- never fear, it’s time for the midsummer vegetable garden– which means you are right on time!

Summer dresses of linen and floral prints mixed with sneakers or Birkenstocks– seemed to be a popular outfit in Brooklyn- while we were all trying to beat the heat this past weekend. Super Cute!

Summer is such a fun time, but summer break can test us parents- especially we parents’ with neurodivergent kiddos. Thankfully, there are some strategies to help us- and our kids- have more fun. I hope these encourage you too.

Do you ever feel that you keep taking the same thing to every summer cookout? Here is some side dish inspiration to help get you- and me- out of our rut.

We are prepping for a quick getaway- traveling always has me thinking about if there is a  cure for overpacking– I am so prone to it. It probably doesn’t help that I also picked up several pair’s shorts at a great price- and a few shirts too. Lol!

What are your top summer songs? Always on my summer playlist you’ll find anything Beach Boys along with Summertime by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince– I can almost smell the fragrance of sunscreen and chlorinated water heavy in the air.

All the talk this weekend was Barbie/ Oppenheimer- and our friend group was no different. Within our discussions- Barbie Movie provoked some of the more interesting and strong reactions, compared to Oppenheimer, the Father of the Atomic Bomb. My curiosity has me strongly team Barbenheimer. How about you?

Wishing you an amazing weekend!
